Where Is Sparrow........???? where is House sparrow . Why they completly lost from enviorment?? The House Sparrow is a chunky bird, ranging from 14–18 centimetres (5.5–7.1 in) in length, and from 24–39.5 grams (0.85–1.4 oz) in mass, depending on sex, subspecies, and environment. Females average smaller than males, and southern birds are smaller than their northern counterparts, though altitude may be equally important.
But they are complete lost i don't know why?? Can some one tell me the reasons

I think they are lost because of food and residence.

There's about 100 in 4 trees outside my apartment complex. They make a ruckus and I think its awesome even if no one else does.

There used to be flocks of house sparrows here. I haven't seen any for years. One reason for their decline is the lack of insects to feed their young. There are very few flies in my house now in the Spring and Summer. At one time, I always had one or two circling the light bulb. I now see only about 4 a year in the house. I don't know why that should be. Perhaps because there's no waste ground here now where small corpses would lie undisturbed so maggots could hatch out of them. There's also a mania for tidying up every bush and bit of grassland, and tarting up old buildings so that there're fewer places for sparrows to build their untidy nests. The waste ground has had yuppie flats built on it. Older buildings have been converted into flats. Even though house sparrows can thank humans for providing houses for them to become 'house' sparrows, humans are largely to blame for their disappearance. No news there, then.
Unlike computers, house sparrows don't seem to be branching out.

Hello Drarora!
What country do you reside in? I know that the House Sparrow (Passer domesticus ) is a European species introduced into New York City in the 19th century and has spread across North America. They used to have commensal relationships with horses and picked undigested grain seeds from their droppings. When horse populations began to decline in the U.S. around the turn of the century with the coming of the automobile, House Sparrow populations declined as well.
I have numerous feeders in my yard and a variety of seed mixtures, but have never seen the House Sparrow amongst 30 other species I have attracted over the past 10 1/2 years. There is even a pasture for horses at the end of my dead-end street.
