---------------------------
Drawing from a social anarchist stance, and embracing the abolitionist animal rights approach the author calls for an integrative view of oppression.
Torres argues that oppression, domination and hierarchy come from the same source, and because of this very reason, if we wish to make a real change we have to fight the very roots of them, and not merely some of their manifestations (which is something that tends to isolate them from its shared foundation.)
As a quote in the book reads: “We must fight every form of oppression, if we want to get rid of any.”
Torres advocates for a broader struggle that can effectively challenge the foundation of injustice committed against humans and other animals, paying special attention to the importance of the relation between our means and our ends.
Highly recommended.

“You cannot buy the Revolution. You cannot make the Revolution. You can only be the Revolution. It is in your spirit, or it is nowhere.” from The Dispossessed by Ursula LeGuin.
