The theatrical trailer of Skin Trade, a documentary about the fur industry directed by Shannon Keith.

From the director of the multi-award-winning documentary film "Behind the Mask" comes the new documentary the fur industry doesn't want you to see.
"Skin Trade" takes the viewer on a journey form the birth of fur used for trading between Native Americans and Europeans, to the exploitation of animals and fur for fashion.

The film delves into the corruption and lies perpetrated by fashion designers that claim their fur designs are eco-friendly" as well as those retailers and fur farmers who claim that the animals are killed humanely.

With a pulsating soundtrack by Duran Duran and The Faded, Skin Trade is sure to motivate and inspire designers, celebrities and consumers to stop buying fur and start making a stand. Featuring John Feldmann, Jorja Fox, James Cromwell, Rikki Rockett, William McNamara, Todd Oldham, Ingrid Newkirk, and more!

Skin Trade explore every aspect of the fur industry. This includes: how the animals are bred, raised, and trapped - with particular attention to steel-jaw leghold traps; the killing methods; the international fur trade including fur farms in the United States, seal hunts in Canada, and dog and cat fur in China; the interpretation of laws and regulations; the clothing industry; and anti-fur activism.

Shannon Keith is an animal rights attorney in Los Angeles, California, who decided to take up documentary filmmaking to get the animal liberation message out to mainstream media. Her first documentary, "Behind the Mask," garnered several awards, including Best Documentary Feature at festivals nationwide, and has been translated into 12 different languages. While balancing fighting for animals in the courtroom and running her own non-profit organization, ARME (Animal Rescue, Media & Education), Shannon is completing her second documentary on the fur and fashion industries called, "Skin Trade," due out by the close of 2009.
